Let's turn this schematic into a printed circuit board. Click this button to open p c b new. First things first, name your board by clicking here. Now you can import the modules by clicking this button. Choose, read current net list. Close this window. As you can see the modules are imported at the top left of the page. We will automagically place the modules in the center of the page. Click this button named manual and automatic move or place of modules. Now can now right click and choose, global move and place, move all modules. Do that in the center of the page. Show the grid. The modules will snap to the grid you selected in this drop list. M to move. R to rotate the module. The goal is to avoid the connections to intersect as less as possible. For example this is bad. Better, for making a connection, the shortcut is x. Simply double click on the pin you want to connect. But we will use the auto route feature of kicad. First we need to draw the edge of the p c b. Select p c b edges from this drop list. Click this button and draw the contour of the p c b. Now we will decide the track width and the clearance. Go to the menu design rules. Adjust the value for your needs. Click on mode track and auto routing. Right click in the page, go to auto route and select layer pair. We will do a single side p c b, so we choose back for both layer. Now we can choose auto route all modules. Click 2 times on hide rats nets or refresh the screen to see the unconnected wire. We have 5 wires that are not connected. To delete the tracks, go to the menu, edit, global deletions. Select delete tracks and include auto routed tracks. We will use an external router called free route. Click on this button. Choose export a spectra design file. Launch the free router. Open your own design. Go to parameter, auto router. Uncheck front and via. Click on auto route and be patient. Left click to stop the auto router if it did not successfully connected all the tracks. 3 unconnected tracks! You can also move the modules by clicking drag. Click on route to manually connect a track. Choose the back layer. Ok, this one is impossible to connect. When you are happy with the design, go to file and choose export spectra session file. Named it vee u s b dot s e s. Back to kicad, click on the auto route button and choose back import the spectra session file. Choose vee u s b dot s e s. To fill the empty space with a ground plane, first click on highligth a net. Choose any ground track. Then click on the button named add zones. Click near the edge of the p c b and adjust the settings. Draw the contour of the p c b. Double click to end the zone. Right click anywhere in the page and choose fill or refill all zones. For a drill hole, click on add modules and choose list all, 1 pin. Have fun!
